8 oz fettuccine pasta

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

3 cloves garlic, minced

Zest and juice of 2 lemons

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Salt and pepper, to taste

Freshly grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Lemon wedges, for garnish

Instructions
 

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

    Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the shrimp and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

      Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

        Add Lemon: Stir in the lemon zest, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes. Allow to simmer for 1-2 minutes to combine the flavors.

          Combine Pasta and Shrimp: Add the drained fettuccine and cooked shrimp to the skillet. Toss everything together, adding reserved pasta water as needed to create a light sauce that coats the pasta.

            Finish with Herbs: Just before serving, stir in the chopped parsley. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if desired.

              Serve: Plate the pasta and shrimp, garnishing with more parsley, freshly grated Parmesan cheese, and lemon wedges on the side.
