Ingredients

For the Pizza:

1 pound ground beef (or meat substitute)

1 tablespoon taco seasoning

1 can (15 oz) refried beans

2 large flour tortillas

1 cup shredded Mexican cheese blend

1 cup diced tomatoes (fresh or canned)

1/2 cup sour cream

1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)

2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro (for garnish)

1 tablespoon olive oil (for frying)

For the Taco Sauce:

1/2 cup ketchup

1 tablespoon hot sauce (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon chili powder

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Make the Taco Sauce: In a bowl, whisk together the ketchup, hot sauce, chili powder, ground cumin, onion powder, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Set aside.

Cook the Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess grease, then add taco seasoning and a splash of water per package instructions. Stir well and simmer for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.

Prepare the Tortillas: In the same skillet, lightly fry the flour tortillas one at a time until golden and slightly crispy on the edges. This should take about 1-2 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Layer the Pizza: On one tortilla, spread a generous layer of refried beans. Next, add a layer of the seasoned ground beef, a drizzle of taco sauce, and a handful of diced tomatoes. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese on top.

Add the Second Tortilla: Place the second tortilla on top of the layered ingredients. Gently press down.

Cook the Pizza: In the same skillet, carefully place the assembled pizza and cook on medium heat for about 3-4 minutes, until the bottom tortilla is golden and crispy. Using a large spatula, carefully flip the pizza and cook the other side for an additional 3-4 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the tortilla is golden.

Finish with Toppings: Remove from heat. Spread a dollop of sour cream on top, then drizzle more taco sauce. Add black olives, if using, and sprinkle with fresh cilantro for garnish.

Serve and Enjoy: Slice into wedges and serve with your favorite sides like guacamole or salsa!
