Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium recommended)

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons water

2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for cooking)

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a kick)

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Shrimp: In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and rice vinegar. Place the shrimp in the marinade, ensuring they're well coated. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water until smooth. Add it to the marinated shrimp mixture and stir until combined. This will help thicken the sauce while cooking.

Heat the Wok: In a large skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add sesame oil for additional flavor.

Cook the Shrimp: Once the oil is hot, add the marinated shrimp (discard any leftover marinade). Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

Add Saucy Goodness: Pour the thickened sauce mixture over the cooked shrimp. Stir to combine and let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to bubble and thicken into a sticky glaze.

Adjust the Flavor: If you desire a little heat, sprinkle in red pepper flakes and mix well. Taste and adjust soy sauce or honey to your preference.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately over steamed rice or on a bed of fresh greens.
