Ingredients

2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and diced

1 medium jalapeño, finely diced (seeds removed for less heat)

1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Juice of 1 lime

1 tablespoon honey (adjust to taste)

Salt, to taste

Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Instructions

Prepare the Strawberries: In a medium bowl, add the diced strawberries. Ensure they are ripe for the best flavor.

Add the Heat: Carefully dice the jalapeño. If you prefer less spiciness, remove the seeds and membrane before chopping. Add the diced jalapeño to the bowl with the strawberries.

Mix in the Aromatics: Chop the red onion and cilantro finely, and add them to the strawberry mixture.

Dress the Salsa: Squeeze the juice of one lime over the mixture. Add honey to enhance the sweetness, then sprinkle with salt and black pepper.

Toss Everything Together: Gently toss all the ingredients until well combined, making sure to not mash the strawberries.

Taste and Adjust: Give your salsa a taste and adjust the sweetness or saltiness, according to your preference.

Refrigerate: Let the salsa chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

Serve: Serve with tortilla chips, grilled chicken, or fish for a unique flavor explosion!
