Ingredients

1 lb (450g) boneless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces

1/2 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce (preferably low-sodium)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

2 teaspoons sesame oil

1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 teaspoons water (for thickening)

2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a spicy kick)

Salt and pepper to taste

Sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Steamed rice or salad, for serving

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken: In a mixing bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken pieces, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours for more flavor).

Cook the Chicken: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken (reserve the marinade) and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through, stirring occasionally.

Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, pour in the reserved marinade and bring it to a gentle simmer. Stir in the cornstarch slurry (cornstarch mixed with water) to thicken the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce becomes sticky and coats the chicken nicely.

Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot over steamed rice or alongside a fresh salad.

Enjoy Your Meal: Sit back and enjoy the delectable flavors of your homemade Sticky Honey Chicken!
