Ingredients

1 lb thick-cut bacon

1/4 cup honey

2 tablespoons chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, minced

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for extra heat)

1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Bacon: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup and set a wire rack on top for crispiness. Lay the bacon strips out in a single layer on the rack.

Make the Glaze: In a mixing bowl, combine the honey, minced chipotle peppers, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix well to combine all the flavors.

Glaze the Bacon: Brush a generous amount of the smoky chipotle glaze over the bacon strips, ensuring they are well-coated. Reserve some of the glaze for later.

Bake the Bacon: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and caramelized. Keep an eye on it towards the end to avoid burning, as sugars can caramelize quickly.

Add More Glaze: After 15 minutes, carefully remove the bacon from the oven and brush on a little more glaze for extra flavor. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes until the glaze has set and the bacon is crispy.

Cool and Serve: Once done, remove the bacon from the oven and let it cool on the wire rack for a couple of minutes. This will help it crisp up even more. Sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley for a pop of color before serving.

Enjoy: Serve warm alongside your favorite breakfast items like scrambled eggs, pancakes, or avocado toast. This smoky chipotle honey glazed bacon is sure to be the highlight of your breakfast spread!
