1 large onion, thinly sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 cups sauerkraut, drained

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon dried thyme

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

1 tablespoon olive oil (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Slow Cooker: Lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker with olive oil to prevent sticking (optional).

Layer Ingredients: Begin by placing half of the frozen pierogi at the bottom of the slow cooker. Then, add half of the sliced kielbasa, half of the sliced onion, and half of the minced garlic. Sprinkle with a pinch of paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper.

Repeat Layers: Add the remaining pierogi, followed by the rest of the kielbasa, onions, garlic, and seasonings. Spread the sauerkraut over the top and finish with the shredded cheddar cheese.

Cooking Time: Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 4-6 hours, or until the pierogi are cooked through, and the flavors have melded.

Final Touch: Once cooked, gently stir to combine layers without breaking the pierogi.

Serve: Dish out portions and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
