Ingredients

4 large ripe tomatoes, diced

1 medium red onion, finely chopped

1 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

1-2 jalapeño peppers, seeds removed and diced (adjust based on heat preference)

2 cloves garlic, minced

Juice of 2 limes

1 teaspoon ground cumin

Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, finely chopped red onion, and chopped cilantro.

Add the diced jalapeño peppers and minced garlic to the mix, adjusting the quantity of jalapeños based on your heat preference.

Squeeze the juice of 2 fresh limes over the mixture, ensuring you include all the juice for an added zesty flavor.

Sprinkle in the ground cumin, and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Start with a pinch of each and adjust according to your preference.

Using a spoon, gently fold all the ingredients together until well combined, taking care not to mash the tomatoes.

For the best flavor, let the salsa sit for at least 30 minutes at room temperature to allow the flavors to meld.

Serve with tortilla chips, tacos, or as a fresh topping for grilled meats.
