8 oz (225g) fresh mushrooms (cremini or button), sliced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon unsalted butter

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (or ¼ teaspoon dried thyme)

Salt and pepper to taste

4 slices of hearty bread (such as sourdough or ciabatta)

8 oz (225g) brie cheese, sliced

1 tablespoon balsamic glaze (optional)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Sauté the Mushrooms: In a skillet over medium heat, combine the olive oil and butter. Once melted, add the sliced mushrooms and cook for about 5-7 minutes until they are browned and cooked down. Stir in the minced garlic and thyme and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and set aside.
