1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 large egg

1 cup buttermilk

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

For the Sandwich Filling:

4 slices of cooked bacon, chopped (optional)

1 ripe avocado, sliced

1 cup arugula or spinach

1/2 cup Greek yogurt or sour cream

Fresh cracked black pepper, to taste

Instructions
 

Prepare the Waffle Batter:

    - In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, and salt.

      - In a separate bowl, mix the egg, buttermilk, and melted butter until fully combined.

        - Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix.

          - Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and chopped chives. Set aside.

            Preheat the Waffle Iron:

              - Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions until hot and ready.

                Cook the Waffles:
