Ingredients

1 batch red velvet cake (homemade or store-bought)

2 cups whipped cream (heavy cream whipped to soft peaks)

1 cup cream cheese (softened)

1/3 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup red velvet cake crumbs (from the baked red velvet cake)

½ cup chocolate shavings (dark or white chocolate)

Fresh raspberries (for garnish)

Optional: edible gold flakes for a luxurious touch

Instructions

Prepare the Red Velvet Cake: If you’re making the cake from scratch, bake a 9-inch round red velvet cake according to your favorite recipe. Let it cool completely before crumbling.

Make the Cream Cheese Layer: In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Use a hand mixer or a whisk to mix until smooth and creamy.

Combine with Whipped Cream: Carefully fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until fully incorporated and lightly combined. This will create a light and airy cream cheese layer.

Assemble the Trifle: In a clear trifle dish or individual glass cups, start layering the ingredients. Begin with a layer of red velvet cake crumbs, followed by a layer of the cream cheese mixture, and drizzle with some chocolate shavings.

Repeat the Layers: Continue to layer until you reach the top of your dish. You should have at least three to four layers. Finish with a layer of whipped cream on top.

Final Touches: Garnish the top with fresh raspberries and sprinkle chocolate shavings over them. For an extra touch of elegance, add edible gold flakes on top.

Chill and Serve: Place the trifle in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving to let the flavors meld together. Serve chilled, and enjoy the beautiful layers!
