Ingredients

2 pounds pork shoulder or pork butt

1 cup BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1 medium onion, diced

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon smoked paprika

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

1 cup coleslaw (store-bought or homemade)

12 slider buns

Optional: pickles or jalapeños for topping

Instructions

Prepare the Pork: Start by trimming excess fat from the pork shoulder. Cut it into large chunks for easy cooking and seasoning.

Mix Spices: In a small bowl, combine the smoked paprika, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Rub this spice mixture all over the pork pieces to ensure they are well-coated.

Cook the Pork: Place the seasoned pork chunks in a slow cooker. Add diced onion and minced garlic around the pork. Pour the BBQ sauce over the top, making sure to cover the meat completely.

Set and Forget: Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for about 8 hours or on high for 4 hours, until the pork is tender and falls apart easily with a fork.

Shred the Meat: Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and place it on a cutting board. Shred the meat using two forks, then return it to the slow cooker. Stir well to coat the pulled pork in the BBQ sauce.

Toast the Buns: While the pulled pork is soaking up the flavors, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the slider buns in half and place them on a baking sheet. Toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes until golden and warm.

Assemble the Sliders: On the bottom half of each slider bun, add a generous scoop of the pulled pork mixture. Top with a spoonful of coleslaw and, if desired, add pickles or jalapeños. Place the top half of the bun on top.

Serve and Enjoy: Serve the BBQ pulled pork sliders warm, ideally with extra BBQ sauce on the side for dipping.
