Ingredients

8 oz pastrami, thinly sliced

2 slices rye bread

2 slices Swiss cheese

¼ cup sauerkraut, drained

2 tablespoons spicy brown mustard

1 tablespoon mayonnaise

1 tablespoon butter

Dill pickles, for serving

Fresh dill, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prep the Bread: Start by spreading mayonnaise on one side of each slice of rye bread and mustard on the other side.

Layer the Ingredients: On one slice (mustard side up), layer the pastrami, followed by Swiss cheese, and then the sauerkraut. Top with the second slice of bread (mayonnaise side down).

Make the Sandwich: Press down gently on the sandwich to compact it slightly.

Heat the Pan: In a skillet or panini press, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, place the sandwich in the pan.

Toast the Sandwich: Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted. If using a panini press, follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Serve: Remove the sandwich from the skillet, slice it in half, and serve with dill pickles on the side. Garnish with fresh dill if desired.
