Ingredients

For the Meat Mixture:

1 lb ground beef

1/2 lb bacon, chopped

1 small onion, finely chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Salt and pepper to taste

For the Cheese Mixture:

15 oz ricotta cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 egg

1 tsp Italian seasoning

1/2 tsp garlic powder

For the Tomato Sauce:

24 oz marinara sauce

1 tsp Italian seasoning

Red pepper flakes (optional, to taste)

For Assembly:

12 lasagna noodles (either traditional or no-boil)

1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Extra grated Parmesan for topping

Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the Bacon and Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove bacon with a slotted spoon, leaving the grease in the pan. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.

Sauté Vegetables: Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the beef. Cook until the onion is translucent. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix in the crispy bacon, then set aside to cool slightly.

Prepare the Cheese Mixture: In a medium bowl, blend the ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, egg, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder until well combined. Set aside.

Mix the Tomato Sauce: In a separate bowl, combine the marinara sauce with Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes (if using).

            Assemble the Lasagna:

              - Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce at the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.

                - Place a layer of lasagna noodles over the sauce.

                  - Add half of the meat mixture over the noodles, followed by half of the cheese mixture.

                    - Spoon a layer of marinara sauce over the cheese mixture.

                      - Repeat the layers (noodles, meat, cheese, sauce).

                        - Finish with a final layer of noodles, topped with remaining marinara sauce, and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella and extra grated Parmesan.

Bake the Lasagna: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil (to keep it moist) and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Cool and Serve: Let the lasagna cool for about 10-15 minutes before slicing. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color, and serve hot.
