Ingredients

12 lasagna noodles

1 lb ground beef

1 lb bacon, chopped

1 small onion, diced

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes

2 cups marinara sauce

1 tsp Italian seasoning

1 tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

3 cups ricotta cheese

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 egg

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Noodles: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Cook the Bacon and Beef: In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and drain on paper towels, leaving about 2 tablespoons of bacon grease in the pan. In the same skillet, add the diced onion and cook until softened (about 3-5 minutes). Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute.

Brown the Beef: Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces (about 6-8 minutes). Drain any excess fat.

Simmer the Sauce: To the beef mixture, add the crushed tomatoes, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir well and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Make the Ricotta Mixture: In a separate bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, half of the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and well incorporated.

Layer the Lasagna: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom. Layer 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce, followed by half of the ricotta mixture, a third of the crispy bacon, half of the remaining meat sauce, and a third of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layers: noodles, ricotta mixture, bacon, meat sauce, and mozzarella.

Finish with Noodles and Cheese: Top the last layer with a final set of noodles, the remaining meat sauce, the rest of the mozzarella cheese, and the rest of the grated Parmesan cheese.

Bake: Cover the lasagna with aluminum foil (to prevent sticking, spray the foil with cooking spray). Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Let it Rest: Remove from the oven and let the lasagna rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing. This will help it hold its shape better.

Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving. Enjoy your mouthwatering Parmesan Garlic Bacon Cheeseburger Lasagna!
