Ingredients

2 cups roasted red bell peppers (jarred or homemade)

1 cup walnuts, toasted

1/4 cup breadcrumbs (preferably from a crusty bread)

2 tablespoons pomegranate molasses

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 garlic clove, minced

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Ingredients: If using jarred roasted red peppers, drain and rinse them. If you prefer homemade, you can roast the peppers over an open flame or in the oven until charred, then peel off the skin and remove the seeds.

Toast the Walnuts: Place the walnuts in a dry skillet over medium heat. Toast them, stirring frequently, until golden brown and fragrant, about 5-7 minutes. Be careful not to burn them!

Blend the Ingredients: In a food processor, combine the roasted red bell peppers, toasted walnuts, breadcrumbs, pomegranate molasses, olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, ground cumin, and smoked paprika. Pulse until the mixture is smooth but still has some texture.

Season to Taste: Stop the food processor and taste the dip. Add salt and pepper as needed. If you prefer a creamier consistency, you can add a bit more olive oil or a splash of water.

Chill the Dip: Transfer the Muhammara dip to a serving bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley, a drizzle of olive oil, and serve with warm pita, fresh vegetables, or your favorite crackers.
