Ingredients

1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

4 oz bacon, diced

3 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp balsamic vinegar

2 tbsp maple syrup

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Brussels Sprouts: In a large mixing bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Toss until the sprouts are fully coated.

Cook the Bacon: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the diced bacon until crispy. Remove it from the skillet and let it drain on paper towels, leaving about 1 tablespoon of rendered fat in the pan.

Combine Ingredients: Add the prepared Brussels sprouts to the same skillet with the bacon fat and sauté for about 5 minutes until they start to brown.

Roast the Sprouts: Transfer the Brussels sprouts to a baking dish. Drizzle balsamic vinegar and maple syrup over the sprouts, and toss to combine. Sprinkle the crispy bacon and shredded Parmesan cheese on top.

Bake: Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the Brussels sprouts are tender and caramelized, stirring halfway through for even cooking.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve hot as a delicious side dish.
