Ingredients

1 cup dried hibiscus flowers

4 cups boiling water

1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 3-4 lemons)

1/2 cup honey or agave syrup (adjust according to taste)

4 cups cold water

Lemon slices and fresh mint leaves for garnish

Ice cubes

Instructions

Steep the Hibiscus: In a heatproof container, add the dried hibiscus flowers to the boiling water. Cover and let it steep for about 15-20 minutes until the mixture turns a deep ruby-red color.

Strain the Tea: After steeping, strain the hibiscus mixture using a fine mesh strainer into a large pitcher, discarding the flowers.

Sweeten the Tea: While the hibiscus tea is still warm, stir in the honey or agave syrup until completely dissolved. Adjust the sweetness to your liking.

Add Lemon Juice: Once the tea cools to room temperature, add the freshly squeezed lemon juice and stir well to combine.

Dilute the Mixture: Pour in the cold water and mix thoroughly. Taste the tea and adjust the sweetness or acidity by adding more honey or lemon juice as needed.

Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the tea for at least 1-2 hours until it's thoroughly chilled. When ready to serve, fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the iced hibiscus lemon tea over the ice, and garnish with lemon slices and fresh mint leaves.

Enjoy: Serve immediately and enjoy the refreshing burst of flavors!
