Ingredients

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter

2 cups granulated sugar

4 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup hot fudge sauce (plus extra for serving)

1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan, or line it with parchment paper for easier removal.

Melt the Butter: In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter completely. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Mix the Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Stir until well combined. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla extract.

Combine the Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until evenly mixed.

Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; it's okay if there are a few small lumps.

Add Chocolate and Nuts: Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts or pecans if using.

Swirl the Fudge: Gently swirl in the hot fudge sauce into the batter. You want to create pockets of fudge throughout the bread without fully combining it.

Pour and Bake: Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (a little fudgy is good!).

Cool and Serve: Allow the brownie bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, slice and serve warm or at room temperature, drizzling with extra hot fudge sauce if desired.
