Ingredients

1 pre-made pie crust (9-inch)

4 ripe peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1 tablespoon unsalted butter, cut into small pieces

1 egg (for egg wash)

Optional: Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Crust: Roll out the pie crust into a 9-inch tart pan, pressing it down gently. Trim any excess dough hanging over the edges. Prick the bottom of the crust with a fork to prevent bubbling.

Make the Peach Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced peaches, sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, cornstarch, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss gently to coat the peaches evenly.

Assemble the Tart: Pour the peach mixture into the prepared pie crust. Distribute the small pieces of butter evenly over the filling to enhance flavor as it bakes.

Egg Wash: In a small bowl, whisk the egg and brush it over the edges of the crust for a beautiful golden finish.

Bake the Tart: Place the tart in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the peaches are bubbly and the crust is golden brown.

Cool and Serve: Remove the tart from the oven and allow it to cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally topped with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
