Ingredients

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

½ teaspoon baking soda

¼ teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 ½ cups buttermilk

2 large eggs

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

6 thick-cut bacon slices

4 large eggs (for frying)

4 slices of cheddar cheese

Maple syrup, for serving

Fresh fruit (strawberries or blueberries) for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Waffle Batter:

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar. In a separate bowl, mix the buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla until combined. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Let it sit for about 10 minutes.

      Cook the Bacon:

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove from the skillet and set on a paper towel to drain excess grease. Leave a little bacon grease in the pan for frying the eggs.

          Make the Waffles:

Preheat a waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions. Grease lightly with non-stick spray. Pour enough batter to cover the waffle iron (about ½ cup) and cook until golden brown and crisp. Repeat with the remaining batter, making a total of 4 waffles.

              Fry the Eggs:

In the same skillet used for the bacon, crack the 4 eggs and fry to your liking (sunny side up or over easy). If desired, sprinkle with a pinch of salt and pepper.

                  Assemble the Sliders:

Cut each waffle in half to create two halves. On the bottom half of each waffle, layer one slice of crispy bacon, a fried egg, and a slice of cheddar cheese. Top with the other half of the waffle to complete the slider.

                      Serve:

Drizzle with maple syrup and garnish with fresh fruit. Serve warm and enjoy your delicious sliders!
