Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup shredded sweetened coconut

1/2 cup chopped pecans

1/4 cup caramel sauce (for drizzling, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set this mixture aside.

Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, use a hand mixer or stand mixer to cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Add Egg and Vanilla: Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

Incorporate Dry Mixture: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Avoid over-mixing!

Fold in Chocolate, Coconut, and Pecans: Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, shredded coconut, and chopped pecans until evenly distributed throughout the cookie dough.

Scoop the Dough: Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, giving them about 2 inches of space in between.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the tops look slightly soft.

Cool: Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes. Then, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Drizzle with Caramel (optional): If desired, drizzle warm caramel sauce over the cooled cookies for an extra touch of sweetness.
