Ingredients

1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

3 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Brussels Sprouts: Rinse the Brussels sprouts under cold water, then trim the stems and cut them in half from top to bottom.

Season the Sprouts: In a large mixing bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Toss well to coat the sprouts evenly.

Arrange on Baking Sheet: Spread the seasoned Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat for easy cleanup.

Roast: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast for about 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the Brussels sprouts are golden brown and crispy on the edges.

Add Parmesan: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the hot Brussels sprouts. Return to the oven and roast for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Finish with Balsamic Vinegar: Drizzle the balsamic vinegar over the roasted Brussels sprouts and give them a gentle toss to distribute the flavors.

Garnish and Serve: Transfer the roasted Brussels sprouts to a serving platter, garnish with fresh chopped parsley, and serve warm.
