Ingredients

1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

3 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

Salt and pepper to taste

Cornmeal (for dusting)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.

In a small saucepan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned. Stir in the crushed red pepper flakes (if using) and remove from heat.

On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into your desired thickness. For a traditional crust, aim for about ¼ inch thick.

Transfer the rolled-out dough to a baking sheet or a pizza peel dusted with cornmeal to prevent sticking.

Brush the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil onto the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.

Spread the garlic oil evenly over the surface of the dough, ensuring the minced garlic is well-distributed.

Sprinkle half of the Parmesan cheese evenly over the top of the pizza.

Add the mozzarella cheese, followed by the remaining Parmesan cheese.

Sprinkle dried oregano, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper over the cheese.

Carefully slide the pizza onto the hot pizza stone (or simply place the pan into the oven) and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling and slightly browned.

Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes before slicing.

Garnish with extra parsley if desired and serve hot.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 2-4 slices per person
