Ingredients

1 package (1 lb) pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Pizza Dough: If using store-bought dough, let it sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes. This makes it easier to stretch. If using homemade dough, roll it out into a rectangle about ½ inch thick.

Cut and Shape the Knots: Cut the dough into strips about 1-inch wide. Take each strip, tie it into a knot, and tuck the ends under. Place the knots on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them for rising.

Make the Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, dried Italian herbs, red pepper flakes (if using), and salt. Mix thoroughly.

Brush the Knots: Use a pastry brush to generously coat each knot with the garlic butter mixture, ensuring they’re well-covered for maximum flavor!

Add Parmesan: Sprinkle the freshly grated Parmesan cheese over the knots, distributing evenly.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the knots are golden brown and cooked through.

Garnish and Serve: Once out of the oven, brush the knots again with any remaining garlic butter. Sprinkle chopped parsley on top for a touch of freshness. Serve warm!
