Ingredients

9 cups Rice Chex cereal

1 cup freeze-dried strawberries, crushed

1 cup white chocolate chips

1/4 cup strawberry puree (made from fresh strawberries blended)

1 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup unsweetened coconut flakes (optional)

1/4 cup crushed graham crackers (for added texture)

Instructions

Prep Your Ingredients: Start by crushing the freeze-dried strawberries and setting them aside. Prepare a large mixing bowl for the Rice Chex and another for coating the finished mixture.

Melt the White Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the white chocolate chips and strawberry puree. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until melted and smooth.

Mix with Cereal: In a large mixing bowl, pour the melted white chocolate mixture over the Rice Chex. Using a spatula, gently stir to coat the cereal evenly but carefully to avoid breaking the pieces.

Add Flavor and Texture: Sprinkle in the crushed freeze-dried strawberries, vanilla extract, and coconut flakes (if using). Gently fold until everything is evenly distributed.

Coat with Powdered Sugar: Transfer the coated mixture into a large zip-top bag or a bowl. Add the powdered sugar and shake or stir until all the pieces are coated and look fluffy.

Add Graham Crackers: Sprinkle in the crushed graham crackers and mix lightly to incorporate them for that authentic shortcake taste.

Cool and Store: Spread the puppy chow on a lined baking sheet to cool. Once cool, store in an airtight container.

Serve: Enjoy as a snack by itself or use it as a topping for ice cream or yogurt for a delightful dessert!
