Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon lemon zest

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Optional: Red pepper flakes, for a spicy kick

Instructions

Prep the Shrimp: Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Season them lightly with salt and pepper.

Melt the Butter: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Allow it to foam but not brown, about 1 minute.

Sauté the Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, making sure not to burn it.

Cook the Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until they begin to turn pink. Flip them over and cook for an additional 2 minutes until fully cooked and opaque.

Add Lemon Flavor: Reduce the heat to low and stir in the lemon zest and lemon juice. If desired, add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a bit of heat.

Finish and Serve: Sprinkle with fresh parsley and give it a gentle toss. Serve hot over cooked pasta, rice, or a bed of greens.
