Ingredients

1 can (15 oz) black beans, rinsed and drained

1 cup cooked quinoa

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (whole wheat or gluten-free)

1/2 cup corn kernels (fresh, frozen, or canned)

1/2 red bell pepper, finely chopped

1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

1 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil (for grilling)

Whole wheat burger buns

Optional toppings: sliced avocado, lettuce, tomato, pickles, or your favorite sauce

Instructions

Prep the Beans: In a large mixing bowl, mash the black beans with a fork until mostly smooth but still slightly chunky for texture.

Combine Ingredients: Add the cooked quinoa, breadcrumbs, corn kernels, chopped red bell pepper, cilantro, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and season with salt and pepper. Mix everything together until well combined.

Form Patties: Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each one into a patty. You can make about 4-6 patties depending on your desired thickness.

Chill: Place the patties on a plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. This helps them firm up and makes them easier to grill.

Preheat Grill: Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium heat. Brush the grill grates with olive oil to prevent sticking.

Grill the Patties: Once hot, carefully place the veggie patties on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and slightly charred. Handle gently to avoid breaking them apart.

Serve: Toast the burger buns on the grill for a minute. Assemble the burgers by placing a grilled patty on the bottom half of each bun and add your desired toppings. Cover with the top half of the bun.

Enjoy: Serve immediately and dig in while they're warm and delicious!
