1/2 cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tsp vanilla extract

A pinch of salt

3 large eggs

1 cup (240ml) water

1/3 cup (80ml) vegetable oil

For the Whipped Cream Topping:

1 cup (240ml) heavy whipping cream

2 tbsp powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

Cocoa powder or chocolate shavings for garnish

For Assembly:

1/2 cup (120ml) Baileys Irish Cream, for soaking cake layers

Chocolate curls or shavings for decoration

Instructions

Prepare the Chocolate Cake:

    - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

      - In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Mix until just combined.

        - Divide the batter evenly between the cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

          - Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

            Make the Chocolate Cheesecake Layer:

              - In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Gradually add granulated sugar, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt, mixing until well incorporated.

                - In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Carefully fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until well blended.

                  - Stir in the Baileys Irish Cream and vanilla extract until combined.

                    Assemble the Trifle:

                      - Once the chocolate cakes are completely cool, slice each cake horizontally into two layers, resulting in four layers total.

                        - In a large trifle dish or individual serving glasses, place one layer of chocolate cake at the bottom. Drizzle with Baileys Irish Cream to soak the cake.

                          - Spoon a layer of the chocolate cheesecake mixture over the soaked cake, smoothing it out evenly.

                            - Repeat the layers: cake, Baileys, chocolate cheesecake, until the trifle dish or glasses are filled, finishing with a layer of cheesecake.

                              Prepare the Whipped Cream Topping:

                                - In a clean bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.

                                  - Gently spread or pipe the whipped cream on top of the trifle.

                                    Garnish and Chill:

                                      - Garnish the top with cocoa powder, chocolate curls, or shavings.

                                        - Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the layers to meld.

                                          Serve:

                                            - When ready to serve, spoon into individual servings if using glasses or serve directly from the trifle dish.

                                              - Enjoy this luxurious dessert with a touch of Baileys chocolatey goodness!
