Ingredients

4 large dill pickles, drained and patted dry

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for a spicy kick)

Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking spray (or olive oil spray)

Instructions

Prepare the Pickles: Cut each pickle in half lengthwise, then cut each half into quarters to create spears. Pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

Setup the Breading Station: In three separate shallow bowls, set up your breading station. In the first bowl, add the flour seasoned with salt and pepper. In the second bowl, pour in the beaten eggs. In the third bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), and additional salt and pepper.

Bread the Pickles: Take each pickle spear and roll it in the flour, ensuring it is fully coated. Shake off any excess flour, then dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, roll the spear in the breadcrumb mixture until it is fully coated.

Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.

Arrange the Pickles: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking. Place the breaded pickle spears in a single layer in the basket. Make sure they're not touching for maximum crispiness.

Air Fry the Pickles: Lightly spray the tops of the pickle spears with cooking spray. Air fry the pickles at 390°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.

Serve: Carefully remove the pickle spears from the air fryer and let them cool for a few moments. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces like ranch, spicy mayo, or a classic thousand island dressing.
