Ingredients

1 pound fresh broccoli florets

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for some heat)

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Zest of 1 lemon

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Prepare the Broccoli: Rinse the broccoli florets under cold water and thoroughly pat them dry with a kitchen towel. Moisture can prevent them from getting crispy, so make sure they’re completely dry.

Season the Broccoli: In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Add the broccoli florets and toss well until they are evenly coated in the seasoning mixture.

Add Cheese and Lemon: Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the seasoned broccoli, along with the lemon juice and zest. Toss again until the broccoli is well-coated with the cheese and zesty ingredients.

Arrange on Baking Sheet: Spread the broccoli florets out in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are not overcrowded for optimal crispiness.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the broccoli is tender and the edges are golden brown and crispy. For extra crispiness, you can broil for an additional 2-3 minutes—but keep a close eye to prevent burning.

Serve: Remove the broccoli from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes before serving. Enjoy it warm as a side dish or a healthy snack!
