Ingredients

12 ounces penne pasta

2 cups fresh spinach, chopped

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded (plus extra for topping)

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon salt

1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce

Fresh basil, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Spinach Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine chopped spinach, ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, crushed red pepper flakes (if using), and salt. Stir until well combined.

Mix with Pasta: Add the drained pasta to the spinach and cheese mixture. Pour in the marinara sauce and gently fold everything together until the pasta is well coated.

Transfer to Baking Dish: Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. Pour the pasta mixture into the dish, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle additional mozzarella cheese on top for a golden, bubbly finish.

Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges start to turn golden.

Garnish and Serve: Remove the pasta bake from the oven. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil leaves, if desired.
