To achieve the perfect flavor and texture in your Creamy Garlic Chicken and Broccoli Skillet, the sautéing process is crucial. Start by heating a tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, carefully add the chicken pieces in a single layer, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Overcrowding can lead to steaming rather than browning, so it’s better to work in batches if necessary.

Ingredients

2 large chicken breasts, sliced into strips

2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup chicken broth

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (basil, oregano, thyme)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken: Season the sliced chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and dried Italian herbs. Set aside.

Sauté the Chicken: In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add the seasoned chicken strips and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are browned and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Cook the Broccoli: In the same skillet, add the broccoli florets and a splash of the chicken broth. Cover and steam for about 3-4 minutes (if using fresh) or until tender (if using frozen). Remove the broccoli and set it aside with the chicken.

Make the Creamy Sauce: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for 30-60 seconds until fragrant. Pour in the remaining chicken broth and let it simmer for 2 minutes. Next, add the heavy cream and stir, allowing it to simmer for about 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.

Add Parmesan: Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is creamy. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.

Combine All Ingredients: Return the cooked chicken and broccoli to the skillet, stirring to coat everything in the creamy sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until everything is heated through.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve warm over rice, pasta, or enjoy it straight from the skillet!
