Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup chicken or vegetable broth

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper, to taste

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Cooked pasta or rice, for serving

Instructions

Prep the Shrimp: Ensure the shrimp are thoroughly peeled and deveined. Pat them dry with a paper towel for better searing.

Sauté Garlic: In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes, being careful not to burn it.

Cook Shrimp: Increase the heat to medium-high and add the shrimp to the skillet. Season with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, pour in the chicken broth and bring to a gentle simmer. Add the heavy cream and lemon juice, stirring to combine.

Incorporate Cheese: Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed.

Combine: Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the creamy sauce, heating for another minute or so.

Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in chopped parsley. Serve immediately over cooked pasta or rice, and garnish with additional parsley and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese, if desired.
