Ingredients

2 English muffins

4 large eggs

4 slices of Canadian bacon or ham

4 slices of American cheese (or your preferred cheese)

Butter, for toasting

Salt, to taste

Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Optional: hot sauce, for added kick

Instructions

Prepare the English Muffins:

    - Split the English muffins in half and lightly butter each cut side. Use a skillet over medium heat or a toaster to toast them until golden brown and crispy. Set aside.

      Cook the Canadian Bacon:

        - In the same skillet (or a separate one), add the Canadian bacon slices. Cook over medium heat for about 1-2 minutes on each side, or until they are heated through and slightly crisp. Remove from the skillet and keep warm.

          Cook the Eggs:

            - In the same skillet, reduce the heat to low. Crack each egg into a small ramekin or bowl to help control the shape. Gently pour each egg into the skillet, keeping them spaced apart.

              - Sprinkle a pinch of salt and pepper over the eggs, and cover the skillet with a lid. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the whites are fully set, and the yolks remain soft (or cook longer if you prefer firmer yolks).

                Assemble the Muffins:

                  - Once the eggs are cooked, place a slice of American cheese on top of each egg. Allow the cheese to melt slightly for about 30 seconds.

                    - On the bottom half of each toasted English muffin, stack a slice of Canadian bacon, followed by the cheesy egg. Cover with the top half of the English muffin.

                      Serve:

                        - Serve the Egg McMuffins warm, optionally with a dash of hot sauce for extra flavor. Enjoy your homemade breakfast treat!
