Cookies and Cream Cinnamon Rolls

For the Dough:

2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)

½ cup whole milk, warmed

¼ cup granulated sugar

3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

½ teaspoon salt

2 cups all-purpose flour (plus more for dusting)

For the Filling:

¼ cup unsalted butter, softened

½ cup brown sugar, packed

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

1 cup crushed chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos)

For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

4 ounces cream cheese, softened

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1-2 tablespoons milk (as needed for consistency)

Instructions
 

Prepare the Dough:

    In a small bowl, combine the warmed milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.

      In a larger mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and stir until well combined. Gradually add the flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.

        Knead the Dough:

          Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. Place it in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm environment for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

            Prepare the Filling:

              In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until well combined. Stir in the crushed chocolate cookies.

                Roll Out the Dough:

                  Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll it out into a rectangle about 12x18 inches.

                    Add the Filling:

                        Roll and Cut:
