4 ripe bananas, mashed

6 slices of day-old brioche bread, cubed

2 cups whole milk

1 cup heavy cream

3 large eggs

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 cup chocolate chips (semisweet or dark)

1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Pinch of salt

Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving (optional)

Instructions
 

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.

    In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, milk, cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Whisk together until smooth and well-combined.

      Fold in the cubed brioche bread, making sure each piece is coated in the mixture. Allow it to sit for about 10-15 minutes so the bread can absorb the liquid.

        Add in the chocolate chips and walnuts (if using) and gently stir to combine.

          Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Tap the dish lightly on the counter to eliminate air bubbles.

            Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes until the pudding is set and the top is golden brown. A knife inserted in the center should come out mostly clean.

              Once done, remove from the oven and allow it to cool slightly before serving. It's delicious warm or at room temperature!

                Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
