Chicken Stuffing Casserole

2 cups cooked chicken, shredded

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup

1 cup sour cream

1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn, and green beans)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 package (6 oz) stuffing mix

2 cups chicken broth

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional, for topping)

Instructions
 

Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

    Prepare Chicken Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, frozen mixed vegetables, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well combined.

      Prepare Stuffing: In a separate bowl, mix the stuffing mix with the chicken broth. Allow the mix to absorb the broth for about 5 minutes.

        Layer the Casserole: In a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, spread the chicken mixture evenly across the bottom. Top it with the stuffing mixture, spreading it gently over the chicken.

          Add Cheese (Optional): If using, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the stuffing layer.

            Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is bubbly.

              Cool and Serve: Allow the casserole to cool for 5 minutes before serving to let it set a little. Serve warm and enjoy your comforting meal!
