Ingredients

For the dough:

4 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon salt

2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)

1 cup whole milk, warmed (110°F)

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs

For the caramel pecan topping:

1 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1/4 cup corn syrup

1 cup pecans, coarsely chopped

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the cinnamon filling:

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

Prepare the Dough:

    - In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt. In a small bowl, combine the yeast with the warm milk. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.

      - Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms. Knead for about 6-8 minutes until smooth and elastic.

        - Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.

          Make the Caramel Pecan Topping:

            - In a saucepan over medium heat, combine brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, and vanilla. Stir until melted and smooth.

              - Remove from heat and stir in the chopped pecans. Pour this mixture evenly into the bottom of a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.

                Prepare the Cinnamon Filling:

                  - In a small bowl, mix the 1/2 cup brown sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.

                    Roll the Dough:

                      - Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll the dough into a rectangle about 12x18 inches.

                        - Spread the softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly on top.

                          Shape the Buns:

                            - Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces.

                              - Arrange the cut pieces in the prepared baking dish with the caramel pecan mixture at the bottom.

                                Final Rise:

                                  - Cover the dish with a cloth and allow the buns to rise again for about 30-45 minutes, until puffy.

                                    Bake:

                                      - Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the buns for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. If they start to brown too quickly, cover them loosely with aluminum foil.

                                        Serve:

                                          - Allow the buns to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Carefully invert the pan onto a serving platter so that the caramel pecan topping is on top. Enjoy warm!
