8 ounces of fusilli pasta (or your choice of pasta)

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

1 cup fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini), halved

1 cup fresh basil leaves, torn

1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil

2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Freshly grated Parmesan cheese for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the fusilli pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and rinse it under cold water to cool it down. Set aside.

    Prepare the Dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Adjust the seasoning to taste.

      Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled pasta, cherry tomatoes, mozzarella balls, and torn basil leaves.

        Add Dressing: Pour the dressing over the pasta salad and toss gently to coat all the ingredients evenly.

          Taste and Adjust: Taste the salad and adjust the seasoning with more salt, pepper, or balsamic vinegar if desired.

            Chill (Optional): For best flavors, cover the pasta salad and refrigerate it for about 30 minutes to an hour before serving.

              Serve: Transfer the pasta salad to a serving bowl. If you like, sprinkle freshly grated Parmesan cheese on top before serving.
