When preparing your Buttery Garlic Herb Salmon Packets, a sturdy baking sheet is essential. This tool aids in the easy transfer of the salmon packets to and from the oven, ensuring stability and preventing spills. Opt for a baking sheet with a rim to catch any potential drips from the foil packets, which may contain delicious melting butter and juices. This not only facilitates a hassle-free cooking experience but also ensures that your workspace remains clean. Additionally, a heavier baking sheet will distribute heat evenly, contributing to a perfectly cooked salmon.

Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (6 ounces each)

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

4 garlic cloves, minced

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Zest of 1 lemon

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 lemon, sliced (for garnish)

Aluminum foil (for wrapping)

Instructions

Preheat your oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the butter mixture: In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, chopped dill, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are fully incorporated.

Prepare the salmon: Cut four large squares of aluminum foil, about 12x12 inches each. Place one salmon fillet in the center of each foil square.

Add the butter mixture: Divide the garlic herb butter mixture evenly among the salmon fillets, spreading it generously on top of each piece.

Seal the packets: Fold the sides of the foil over the salmon to create sealed packets. Make sure they are tightly sealed to lock in the flavors and moisture.

Bake: Place the foil packets on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

Serve: Carefully open the foil packets (watch out for hot steam) and garnish each fillet with lemon slices and additional fresh herbs if desired. Serve immediately with your choice of sides, like steamed vegetables or rice.
