1 lb chicken thighs, boneless and skinless, cut into bite-sized pieces

1/2 cup bourbon

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup brown sugar

2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

1 tablespoon honey

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions
 

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the bourbon, soy sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.

    Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and season lightly with salt and pepper.

      Sauté the chicken for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown on all sides.

        Pour the bourbon sauce into the skillet with the chicken. Stir to combine, and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

          Lower the heat to medium and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken.

            Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
