Ingredients

1 loaf of brioche bread (about 12 slices), cut into cubes

8 oz cream cheese, softened and cut into small cubes

2 cups fresh blueberries (or frozen, thawed)

6 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp salt

1 cup maple syrup (for serving)

Powdered sugar (for garnish)

Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Baking Dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.

Layer the Bread and Cream Cheese: Place half of the brioche cubes evenly into the prepared baking dish. Toss half of the blueberries over the bread, then evenly distribute the cream cheese cubes. Top with the remaining brioche cubes and then the remaining blueberries.

Make the Egg Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

Combine Mixtures: Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread and blueberries, ensuring everything is well soaked. Press down gently on the bread to help it absorb the custard.

Chill (Optional): For best results, cover the baking dish with foil and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight if preparing ahead).

Bake: Remove the dish from the refrigerator (if chilled). Bake uncovered for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.

Cool and Serve: Let the bake cool for about 10 minutes. Drizzle with warm maple syrup, dust with powdered sugar, and garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.

Enjoy: Slice into squares, serve warm, and enjoy the wonderful combination of creamy, fruity, and sweet flavors!
