Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained

1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon paprika

2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni

2 cups beef broth

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup ricotta cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Brown the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the beef is browned and the onions are translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

Combine Ingredients: Add the diced tomatoes (with their juice), tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.

Cook the Pasta: In a separate pot, boil the elbow macaroni in beef broth according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Mix the Casserole: In a large mixing bowl, combine the beef mixture, cooked macaroni, mozzarella cheese, and ricotta cheese. Mix until everything is well incorporated.

Transfer to Baking Dish: Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.

Add Toppings: Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top of the casserole.

Bake: Cover the casserole with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. After 25 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let it sit for about 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired before serving.
