Ingredients

1 ripe banana (mashed)

1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)

1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup rolled oats

1 cup chocolate chips (semisweet or dark)

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the mashed banana, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon (if using). Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.

Add Oats and Chocolate: Gently fold in the rolled oats and chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Form Cookies: Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie to allow for spreading.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the center looks slightly underbaked. They will continue to harden as they cool.

Cool Down: Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Enjoy: Serve warm or at room temperature and enjoy the delightful fusion of banana bread and classic chocolate chip cookies!
