Air Fryer Crispy Tofu

1 block (14 oz) firm tofu, pressed and drained

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon cornstarch

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 tablespoon olive oil

Optional: chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Prepare the Tofu: Press the tofu for about 30 minutes to remove excess moisture. Cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes.

    Marinate: In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Add the tofu cubes to the bowl and gently toss to coat them in the marinade. Let it sit for 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.

      Coat with Cornstarch: Sprinkle cornstarch over the marinated tofu; lightly toss until all the cubes are coated evenly. This step ensures the tofu turns crispy in the air fryer.

        Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.

          Air Fry: Lightly coat the air fryer basket with olive oil to prevent sticking. Place the tofu cubes in a single layer in the basket, leaving some space between each piece. You may need to work in batches.

            Cook: Air fry the tofu for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking and crispness. The tofu should be golden brown and crispy on the outside.

              Serve: Once cooked, remove the tofu from the air fryer. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce or toss with a stir-fry.
