Ingredients

3 medium-sized apples (preferably Honeycrisp or Fuji)

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 tablespoon coconut sugar (or brown sugar)

1 tablespoon lemon juice

A pinch of salt

Instructions

Prepare the Apples: Start by washing the apples thoroughly. Use a sharp knife or a mandoline slicer to cut them into thin slices, about 1/8 inch thick. Removing the apple core is optional; you can leave them intact for a more rustic look.

Toss with Lemon Juice: In a large bowl, toss the apple slices with lemon juice to prevent them from browning and to add a touch of tartness.

Mix Cinnamon and Sugar: In a small bowl, combine the ground cinnamon, coconut sugar, and a pinch of salt. Mix well until uniformly blended.

Coat the Apple Slices: Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the apple slices. Toss gently to ensure that each slice is evenly coated with the mixture.

Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 300°F (150°C) for about 5 minutes to ensure even cooking.

Arrange in the Air Fryer Basket: Lay the seasoned apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Make sure they are not overlapping too much, as this may affect the crispiness.

Air Fry the Apple Chips: Cook in the air fryer for about 15-20 minutes. After 10 minutes, shake the basket or flip the apple slices to ensure they cook evenly. Check for doneness at 15 minutes; they should be crispy and lightly browned.

Let Cool: Once done, remove the apple chips from the air fryer and let them cool on a wire rack. They will continue to harden as they cool down.

Serve or Store: Enjoy your crunchy cinnamon apple chips right away as a healthy snack! If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
