1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried thyme)

1 cup shredded Swiss cheese

Salt and pepper, to taste

For the Turkey Burgers:

1 pound ground turkey

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Salt and pepper, to taste

Other Ingredients:

Burger buns

Lettuce leaves

Tomato slices

Additional Swiss cheese slices (optional)

Your favorite condiments (mustard, ketchup, mayo, etc.)

Instructions

Prepare the Stuffing:

    - In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped mushrooms and sauté for about 5 minutes until they release their moisture and become tender.

      - Stir in the minced garlic and thyme. Cook for an additional minute until fragrant. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

        - Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly, then stir in the shredded Swiss cheese. Set aside.

          Make the Turkey Patties:

            - In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and salt and pepper. Gently mix until just combined; be careful not to overwork the meat.

              Assemble the Stuffed Burgers:

                - Divide the turkey mixture into four equal portions. Take one portion and flatten it into a patty in the palm of your hands. Place a generous spoonful of the mushroom and Swiss mixture in the center.

                  - Encase the filling by folding the edges of the turkey patty over it and forming a full burger patty. Repeat this step with the remaining portions.

                    Cook the Burgers:

                      - Preheat a grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grate or pan.

                        - Cook the stuffed turkey burgers for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C). If desired, top each burger with an extra slice of Swiss cheese during the last minute of cooking to melt.

                          Assemble Your Burgers:

                            - Toast the burger buns lightly, if desired.

                              - Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a turkey burger, tomato slices, and any additional condiments you'd like.

                                Serve:

                                  - Place the top half of the bun on your assembled burger, and serve immediately with your favorite sides, like sweet potato fries or a garden salad.
